DESMI Ocean Guard has committed to the UN sustainable development goals and we stand together with local authorities and other manufacturers to try to make a difference.

The SDGs are part of Resolution 70/1 of the United Nations General Assembly: “Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.”

How we contribute

Ballast water management is needed in order to protect marine ecosystems and human interests that coexist within the existing ecosystems around the globe. Ships are carrying ballast water and the ballast water often originates from environmental ecosystems with different organisms than the ecosystem in which the ballast water is discharged. The water contains different kinds of organisms that can invade local maritime ecosystems and become invasive species.
